Rockledge is an incorporated city on the Indian River between Cocoa and the Viera/Suntree growth area. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated 31,343 residents as of July 1, 2025, up 13.2% from the 2020 base—faster than Melbourne, slower than Palm Bay, on a much smaller land area. For decades the city’s most complex mechanical plant sat at Rockledge Regional Medical Center (originally Wuesthoff). That hospital closed after Orlando Health acquired it from Steward Health Care and determined the building could not be repaired economically.
